It is difficult to determine gender, especially that of young rabbits. We're experienced in gendering bunnies, and check our kits often, but it can sometimes be nearly impossible to be certain. There are no cash refunds offered for incorrectly gendered rabbits. Please check the gender before you take custody of your rabbit. If you've reserved a rabbit, and you disagree with our gender determination at pick-up, you may choose another available rabbit to apply your payment toward. Once your bunny leaves our care, no exchanges will be offered on the basis that they were incorrectly gendered.
We begin handling our kits the day they are born, and we breed toward calm, snuggly dispositions, but we cannot guarantee that their personalities will not change with age or changes in their environments. Traumatic events, such as encounters with other animals, or transportation (for some rabbits), can permanently change their behavior. Additionally, bonding with your new bunny takes time. It may take days or weeks for your rabbit to get used to new people, new sounds, new hutches, new smells, etc. Your rabbit was born at our rabbitry, and has never known any other environment. You should not expect your bunny to immediately behave the same with you as it did when it was in our care.
This deposit is non-refundable. You cannot reserve a bunny without a deposit. Bunnies are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. If you reserve a bunny, and something happens to your bunny while it is in our care, you can choose another available rabbit. If you place a deposit and later decide not to buy the rabbit, your deposit will not be refunded. If you cannot pick up your bunny on the scheduled pick-up day, we will hold the bunny for one week, provided that the transaction is paid in full. If you need us to hold a rabbit that is fully paid for more than a week, a 10-dollar boarding fee will be assessed weekly to pay for food and care, with the first fee applicable one week after the day following the scheduled pick up day. This boarding fee must be paid before we release the animal to you, and is not available on bunnies that haven't been paid in full. If you don't pick up your bunny on the scheduled date, and fail to respond to our attempts to contact you for more than three days, we will consider the bunny abandoned with us, and it could be sold to someone else with no refund offered. If you keep us in the loop, we'll be fair and reasonable.
If Rabbit Shire opts to cancel a transaction after any payment has been rendered, you are entitled to a refund in that amount.
We accept no liability for your bunny once it leaves our care. It is your responsibility to care for your bunny after you pick it up. We are always willing to answer questions, though! We only sell rabbits that present as healthy, and we have some idea of what to look out for, but we are not veterinarians. Please be sure to inspect your rabbit before leaving with it. We are not responsible for illnesses, injuries, or vet costs once the animal leaves our care.
They have adapted to eating fiber pellets and Timothy hay, not the material they will find outside. Do not abandon them in nature. If, at any time, you find yourself unable or unwilling to care for your bunny, we recommend you create "For Sale" posts in your local rabbitry Facebook groups, and try to find another owner. Please take care to ensure your buyer is informed, responsible, and conscientious, so the bunny can continue to prosper.
If you can't find another suitable caretaker, please deliver the rabbit back to us. No payments or refunds will be offered, but we will gladly make sure they're fed and dry until they find a new home. Please only do this if you have already been unsuccessful selling your rabbit, or if relocation is very urgent.
We accept Venmo and cash for payments. If you use Venmo and mark as payment for Goods and Services, there is an additional $2 service fee.
